This is a list of the Mayflies, Stoneflies, and Caddisflies (Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Trichoptera -- nymphs and larvae) that I've found so far in the streams that I visit. Most of those streams are in Albemarle County, though there are a few streams that I explore in Fluvanna, Greene, and Madison Counties. By no means do I think that this list is "complete": to the contrary, I expect -- and hope -- to add to it in a regular way.
The asterisk (*) preceding a name indicates a taxa that I know has been found in our streams, but it is not an insect for which I either do not have a live photo, or for which I do not have a live photo that I myself have taken. The question mark (?) following a name means that I am not yet totally sure of the genus or species ID.
I should add that this is a "personal" list and a "personal" project: this is not a list compiled by any organization, nor does it have the stamp of approval of any organization, governmental or otherwise.
